Darjeeling House Blend combines quality first & second flush Darjeeling teas to deliver a harmonious floral cup with full-bodied liquor.
After a harsh and cold winter, the dormant Darjeeling bushes burst back into life with the onset of Spring. Fresh new shoots erupt and are plucked from March to April. These exceptionally fine and exclusive teas are called ‘first flush’ and are the most sought after and valuable variety, produced in limited quantities. The onset of summer brings with it the elusive ‘second flush’ teas, often plucked during a limited time anywhere between May and June.
The bright green and light brown leaves of the first flush are replaced by the second flush’s dark brown and almost black appearance. Once brewed the first flush has a yellow almost golden shade, while second flush is a richer and darker.
Our Darjeeling House Blend has carefully combined these mesmerising characters and flavours, to bring together the floral notes from spring along with the more rounded muscatel notes of the summer, to give us a little piece of heaven in a cup.
